UPS…

4. Styles Clash

Otis Shinsuke Nakamura

A match between the King of Strong Style and a 350-pound human bowling ball shouldn’t work, but like the saying goes, styles make fights.

Otis and Shinsuke Nakamura hooked up Monday in a battle that pitted Nakamura’s strikes against the Alpha Academy man’s brute force. Those contrasts were on full display during that match, with Otis running through Shinsuke’s attempted clotheslines and kicks, overpowering the former Intercontinental Champion several times and countering a Kinshasa with a World’s Strongest Slam for a close two count.

But Nakamura finally put Otis down with three Kinshasas, notching his second Alpha Academy pelt and then targeting the third in Chad Gable.

And that really is the angle everyone knew was coming the moment Shin fought Akira Tozawa last week. A match between Gable and Nakamura should be a lot of fun, and it could also serve to propel either man toward an IC title match against Gunther, so there’s some direction on the back end of this little program.
