4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (April 26)

7. Just A Plot Point

T-Bar Mace
WWE

No one is going to suggest that Mace & T-Bar should be vying for the WWE Championship – or even the Raw Tag Team Championship – at this moment. But throwing them out there as spot-fillers is just a waste of time too.

The now-maskless duo battled Braun Strowman in a 2-on-1 handicap match, which ended in a DQ (sound familiar?), leading to Drew McIntyre to save, which led to a tag match (sound familiar??), which ended under screwy circumstances giving Mace & T-Bar the win without a pin (sound familiar???).

This isn’t storytelling, by the way.

Now, of course all of this was just a backdrop to McIntyre and Strowman imploding and having a match, but that means literally anyone else could have been in that role. Sticking the twin towers there could have built them up, but considering they were in competitive handicap matches with Braun and Drew, and that they won via DQ and count-out, it doesn’t seem like you should be buying stock in the former RETRIBUTION members just yet.

If WWE parlays these “wins” into something in the tag division, we can talk. But until then, we’re just going to assume they were warm bodies to help the implosion along.
