4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 24)

3. Brawling Women Throw Playground Insults

Oh, the writers felt like “earning” their pay again, didn’t they?

You have a simmering feud between two heavy-hitters in Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, so what do you do?

If you’re a WWE writer, you have them make fun of each other’s appearance. In this case, Baszler made a dated Haystacks Calhoun reference, but noted that the superheavyweight was better looking. Jax called her “rude” and then suggested Shayna was an Addams Family reject (assuming she thought the Queen of Spades looked like Wednesday).

Yes, these are the insults a former MMA grappler and a large Samoan superstar hurled. Because they’re really middle-schoolers. Because WWE.

Maybe WWE should have released a bunch of writers instead of wrestlers back in April.
