4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (March 8)

6. R-Truth Is Damaged

It’s really painful to say this, but it might be time for WWE to think about what they really want to do with R-Truth.

Truth is a talented guy who has a lot to offer, but WWE seems to see his brand of humor as an opportunity for him to act like an utter moron. He’s like the goofy neighbor in a sitcom who was really just off-centred and eccentric in the beginning, but now is an absolute moron. The joke has gone from witty humor to race-to-the-bottom idiocy.

On Monday, Truth was still confusing Bad Bunny with Bugs Bunny, and tried to enlist Braun Strowman to help him overcome Bunny’s Space Jam partners. (Really, this was the premise.) We’re so far beyond, “Truth is just a wacky dude,” and are now on the “Truth might have some cognitive damage” character line.

Again, this isn’t to fault R-Truth himself – he can only do what he’s asked with what he’s given. But the writers have turned him into that sitcom neighbor who is no longer funny, but is an annoyance.
