4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Sep 29)

7. Saved By Inspirations

WWE tried to open the show Monday night by having the four legends who bailed out Drew McIntyre in his WWE Championship match at Clash of Champions explain their actions, but it fell flat.

Shawn Michaels told McIntyre (and the audience) that he, Big Show, Ric Flair and Christian chatted while convalescing from Randy Orton’s punts and decided to “even the odds” and get revenge for his attacks.

Um, what odds? It was Drew versus Randy in an ambulance match. Each man had kicked the other in the skull multiple times in the buildup to the PPV. The legends simply saved McIntyre’s bacon every time he looked like he was in danger of losing. Coming out the next night and really trying to sell the opposite of what everyone saw doesn’t negate it.

But hey, maybe Vince is learning from his buddy and fellow “billionaire” in how if you just repeat the lie enough, people will believe it.
