4 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 15)

4. Laid Out Again

The Hurt Business Riddle

It’s very obvious that the writers think Riddle is an idiot (the character, not necessarily the man). The proof is in one very simple gesture: he walked up the ramp backward after his match on Monday night.

Riddle has been portrayed as a goofy dope since coming up to the main roster, his laid-back attitude being treated as aloofness, and his stoner vibe as Fast Times at Ridgemont High burnout Spicoli. The result is a wrestler who was a lethal fighter in NXT with a legit MMA background now tapping out to a full nelson repeatedly and making bad jokes constantly.

On Monday night, Riddle finally picked up a legit win (even his small victories recently have been “banana peel” type wins), pinning MVP in a six-man tag pitting Riddle and Lucha House Party against the Hurt Business. But then, the three winners made their way up the ramp backward, leaving their backs exposed to Bobby Lashley, who literally did the same thing he did a few weeks ago, charging from backstage and blasting Riddle, then cinching in the Hurt Lock.

Add in Riddle being squeezed until he passed out last week as well, and you have a perpetual loser who just can’t win to save his life. Oh sure, he’s won a couple of matches, but WWE has made sure to make him look like a total loser even after those contests.
