4 Ups And 1 Down From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Dec 13)
3. Believe The Hype
Prior to Smackdown, WWE.com hyped up a tag team battle royal that would determine number one contenders to the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. All of Smackdown's available teams (except for the champs) were advertised for the match, although The Usos ended up not competing.
Battle royals that aren't the Royal Rumble (and some that are) are usually boring, but this was actually the exception. Some clever spots (along with the rule that both members of a team had to be individually thrown out for a team to be eliminated) made for an exciting contest.
Simon Gotch was taken out almost immediately, but soon others followed. Rhyno was accidentally eliminated by Slater. When Aiden English was tossed out, that marked the first team elimination, but soon after, Fandango was gone, meaning that every team only had one member. Fans were shocked when Jason Jordan and then Heath Slater were eliminated, but ultimately, good guys won: Zack Ryder was left, giving The Hype Bros the victory.
So The Wyatt Family versus The Hype Bros probably won't be a very even match, but at least this was good.
