4 Ups And 2 Downs From Ultima Lucha Dos-Part 1

1. Mack vs. Cage

The Mack and Cage are just fantastic together. The two put on one of the best matches in Lucha Underground history so far at last year's Ultima Lucha. This year they put on another stellar effort. They weren’t given as much time as the first go-around, but they set the bar so high to open the show that it was easily the best match of the night.

The two beat the hell out of each other, and Mack delivered an impressive Frogsplash off the railing, as well as delivering one of his most badass Stunners yet.

What added to the match is how LU remembers its own history. Cage once again attempted murder on Mack by trying to kick his face through a cinder block, only this time to slip on some beer, and get rolled up. It made Cage look vicious, and still made him look strong (though a bit clumsy) in defeat. I don’t think I’d mind seeing these two go at it for the next 10 Ultima Lucha shows.

We're off to a fun start, and there is still plenty of big matches to come, so make sure to check out Ultima Lucha, and check in here next week for more Ups and Downs.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
