4 Ups And 2 Downs From Ultima Lucha Dos-Part 1

2. Dario’s Enthusiasm

Dario cueto the authority

If you added every WWE Authority figure from the past 15 years together, they still would not equal half the greatness that is Dario Cueto. Not only is the man a true villain, one who has no problem killing people, but his character is also an absolute mark for wrestling!

In WWE, Stephanie and Shane are largely booked as business people who just want to do what they think is best for business. They seem interested in matches, only for what they can do for ratings. Dario doesn’t give a damn about that. At Ultima Lucha, he put on a tux, and was giddy with excitement in seeing wrestlers beat the hell out of each other. It's refreshing to see someone in charge enjoy the product as much as the fans should.

The smile on his El Jefe's face as Mack and Cage battled into his office was hilarious, and there is perhaps no better catchphrase in all of wrestling at the moment than his simple, amazing enthusiasm for “Ring the bell!’

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
