4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (July 22)
3. The Beginning Of Bayley's Journey
The Doctor of Huganomics is finally getting a proper run at the NXT Women's title, or at least that's how it appeared from last night. Bayley finally vanquished Emma in what turned out to be a tiny gem of a match. The two told a solid story of revenge, complicated by Bayley's still-vulnerable right hand being targeted by Evil Emma. Eventually, Bayley overcame her rival and, to the delight of the NXT fans, set her sights higher. Much higher. She announced that she's going to beat the best, then take the NXT Women's Championship. The first stop on that road: Charlotte. While it's tough for Bayley that she's the only one of the Four Horsewomen of NXT to not be called up to the main roster, this will allow her to rule the NXT division with a cuddly fist. She deserves it; through sheer force of personality she's become one of the most beloved superstars in NXT regardless of gender and, considering that it's worryingly unsure whether a gimmick as earnest as hers would be handled well on Raw and Smackdown, her stepping up to the top tier of the Women's Division is excellent news. Reports are in that between now and the end of TakeOver, Bayley will be facing all of the top names in NXT one after the other - Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. Will they each be laying down for their comrade on their way out the door?
