4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (July 22)

2. Eva Marie shows Definite Improvement

Do I have to call her All Red Everything? I really don't want to do that. Regardless of her terrible nickname, Eva Marie paradoxically shocked the world and didn't shock the world by showing considerable improvement in the ring i.e. everyone knew it was coming, but it was supposed to be shocking in storyline so everyone played along. To be clear, Eva Marie is still not in the same league as Charlotte or Sasha Banks. Heck, she's not even in the same league as Cassie the years-trained Australian tasked with jobbing out to her. But then again, look at this match she once had on Raw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9s6Fe45g3A The match she had with Cassie was a considerable step up from that tedious slog. She may still be somewhat clumsy in the ring, and a little too reliant on one submission move, but Eva Marie's development - her increasing ring presence, grasp on wrestling fundamentals like chain wrestling and impressive Brian Kendrick-inspired finisher - is not just great news for the flame-haired star, but an encouraging sign that even written-off 'reality stars' can contribute to the industry with enough hard work.
