4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night’s WWE NXT (June 10)
2. Becky Lynch Keeps Momentum
After a few weeks off it was a relief to see Becky Lynch back in the ring. After her magnificent 'coming out' showing at Unstoppable there was a slight danger that an absence from fans' screens was going to quell her momentum, but she's back, and looking great. She faced off against Jessie McKay in a match that wasn't the squash that fans would expect. McKay got in a lot of offence, even taking time to mock Lynch's mannerisms, but unlike in Joe's match, the evenness of the bout didn't hurt Lynch at all. Her character right now is that of a gutsy ring-technician, not an unstoppable brute, so having her fight out from underneath McKay, as implausible as that seems considering her rookie status, made for an entertaining match. Also worth noting: Lynch's entrance is really great right now. The steam punk goggles and the jets of smoke billowing from the floor combine to look awesome, and the fans at Full Sail University ate it up.
