4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (June 17)
2. The Balor Package Was Great
This article has complained a lot about the Balor package and how it took up a lot of time, and was attempting to distract the crowd from the lack of physical interaction between Balor and Owens, but here's the flip-side to that: it was really good. Balor has a very striking look, but he seems ever so slightly uncomfortable in backstage interviews. Perhaps he takes badly to being scripted, or perhaps he's just not that extroverted in person. Either way, the video package hid that weakness by letting him speak softly and from the heart. In describing his upbringing, the work he's put into his career, and the respect he's had for his parents, Balor came across as humble, respectful and likeable. That's nearly impossible to fake, and will serve him well if the WWE can harness it. His history with Becky Lynch was also well-documented, with Lynch shedding a tear for how much Balor has helped her in her own career. Both superstars were made to look like they earned every single thing they've achieved, and though the docu-footage was long, it helped to foster the idea of Finn Balor as a deserving NXT champion.
