4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 23)
The Cesaro/Owens rivalry is heating up.
This week's Smackdown attempted to carry over the positive momentum that WWE had on a great Raw show, but couldn't capitalize fully due to the stars that were missing in action. Since there was no Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, John Cena, Randy Orton or even Roman Reigns, it was about building up other people. It was the second show this week where Cesaro got to work the main event. After successfully teaming with John Cena and Randy Orton on Raw, Cesaro got to face WWE Champion Seth Rollins in a non-title match in the main event, which is a sign that WWE must be really happy with the performances that Cesaro has been putting in of late. The divas were also featured because their tag match was advertised on Raw and then given a substantial amount of time during Smackdown. Here's a look at the five matches that took place on this week's show. Sheamus d. Ambrose via pinfall when Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper distracted Ambrose. Neville d. Adam Rose easily. After the match, Stardust did a promo to taunt Neville. Rusev d. Kevin Owens by countout when Owens walked out of the match. The Bella Twins d. Naomi and Sasha Banks when Nikki pinned Naomi. Seth Rollins d. Cesaro in a non-title match. Here are the ups and downs for this week's Smackdown.
