4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Mar 12)

2. The Tag Title Scene Has Become A Mess

The tag title match at WrestleMania should have been easy to book: Tyson Kidd and Cesaro defending the titles against The Usos. It's a match that has been done before, but if they were given 12-15 minutes and maybe added a stipulation it could have been one of the best matches on the show. Instead of that, WWE has decided to involve The New Day and Los Matadores just because they want to involve as many people at WrestleMania as possible. It's as if WWE wants us to forget that Los Matadores have been booked like total losers or that The New Day have been a colossal flop. Now we're supposed to believe in them as title contenders? It's a big reach. Los Matadores even lost to Kidd & Cesaro just last week on this show! Why aren't The Ascension involved in this? At least they've had PPV matches that they've actually won recently unlike Los Matadores. This week on Smackdown WWE put the four teams together in a tag match with Los Matadores teaming with Kidd & Cesaro even though they have been booked as faces. All the guys in the match are pretty good workers, but when you have eight guys out there and the match only goes around eight minutes it can get pretty sloppy. For the finish of the match, things broke down and Los Matardores did the switcheroo. Since refs are dumb, he didn't notice the switch and the Backstabber was enough to lead to the victory.
