4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (May 7)

3. Tamina's Pairing With Naomi Feels Like A Repeat

When AJ Lee was booked as the dominant top diva in WWE for most of 2013 and into 2014, she had Tamina at her side as the bodyguard type. The story should have been that AJ kicks her to the curb, Tamina turns face, wins the title and becomes a bigger star after that. It didn't happen. During this week's Smackdown, Naomi wrestled Emma with Tamina looking on at ringside. Naomi still has some work to do in terms of her heel offense because there are times when her taunting just doesn't come across well and the match stalls big time because of it. I saw her at a live event last week and felt the same way. There really wasn't much flow to the match. Emma barely got a comeback in as Naomi got the win with the Rear View. Post match, Tamina and Naomi attacked Emma and it ended with a Tamina Superkick to knock Emma out. While Tamina is far from the most charismatic woman on the roster, having her walk out there with a serious expression on her face is not going to get her over. It's the same thing she did with AJ Lee. No offense to Naomi, but her heel work isn't close to as good as AJ Lee either. Consider this pairing a work in progress at this point.
