4 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Raw (June 29)

4. Crews Already A Victim?

Apollo Crews MVP

It’s really hard to tell what fate awaits Apollo Crews. Long a forgotten man on WWE’s roster, the talented wrestler had recently found success under Paul Heyman and won the United States Championship, but he is facing a feud that might not bode well for him.

Apollo lost to MVP – who largely has been in a managerial role – Monday night, albeit with some help from his client Bobby Lashley. The match was non-title, which would have you believe that MVP is now due a title shot. It wouldn’t make a ton of sense for the manager to win the title, so it’s very possible that this is setting up Lashley to challenge for the strap soon.

Lashley winning a title given his recent rebuild and push would make a lot of sense, but it would mean Crews would potentially be rudderless once again. While there’s no guarantee that that will happen, it’s hard to feel anything other than sceptical given Apollo’s track record in WWE.

Losing the title could be the end of his focus as a featured player on Raw. Of course, this is speculative at this point, but for now, we’ll have to go with a gut feeling and be proven wrong.
