4 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Backlash 2018

7. United States Bathroom Break

Despite their pedigrees, expectations weren’t that high for the Randy Orton versus Jeff Hardy United States Championship match. And they lived down to those expectations.

Orton has been bland and disconnected for some time, and even though fans often rally behind Hardy, Orton’s “methodical” offense managed to slow down the crowd to a crawl. Fans perked up when Jeff hit a Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb for the clean win, but other than a short “Rusev Day!” chant, they were pretty quiet throughout the bout.

Someone needs to do something with Randy, either turn him heel or give him something better to do, because he dragged that match down pretty far in terms of fan energy.
