4 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Legends Raw (Jan 4)
7. 31 Minutes
That’s not the length of the latest Randy Orton promo… although it certainly felt like it.
No, it took 31 minutes of Raw before we learned the fate of Alexa Bliss. If you recall correctly, Raw ended last week with a cliffhanger, with Bliss dousing herself in gasoline and Orton striking a match and advancing toward Alexa (although we were seeing things through her eyes, so Randy was approaching the camera in a strange visual).
But despite Raw ending on a cliffhanger, we didn’t even get a reference to it until 20 minutes into this week’s episode, during the opening match, and then we had to endure a recap before Orton revealed her fate.
Somehow, someone on the writing staff doesn’t understand that a “cliffhanger” is typically addressed at the beginning of the next episode… not a half-hour into the show. And when it’s the possible immolation of a woman, it’s probably a loose end you want to tie up relatively soon.
