4 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Feb 5)

3. Bad News Barrett Debuts "BNZ" Segment

The "BNZ" phrase is in reference to "Bad News Zone." It's a knockoff of the TMZ TV show and website that many people are familiar with and that WWE seems to love since they love to give them "exclusive" news stories like Randy Savage getting in the WWE Hall of Fame or Triple H getting a haircut. Following Ambrose's win over Axel, Barrett appeared on the screen with the BNZ graphics and did a promo saying that Ambrose is too much of a lunatic to deserve an IC Title opportunity. He ended it by saying that if you wanted more breaking news, stay tuned to BNZ. Barrett did a series of tweets to put over the new idea: "#BNZ. First for gossip, WWE breaking news, and Superstar scandals. Stay tuned. Your fave superstars and divas have been caught in some VERY compromising situations. We have the details. Stay tuned to #BNZ for more. Do YOU have a @WWE celeb story for us? Tweet me using the hashtag #BNZ & our reporters will follow up. #Gossip #Rumors #Scandal" The reason it's a positive is that it gives him some character developmental, the whole thing could turn out to be pretty fun and it's nice to see a guy like Ambrose actually wanting to win a midcard title. Maybe he should be higher up the card, but it helps the IC Title to have a guy like him going after it.
