5 AEW Stars Who Could Dethrone Jade Cargill As TBS Champion

2. Kris Statlander

Recently, it looked as if Kris Statlander was in as good a position as anybody when it comes to being the one to topple Jade Cargill and take the TBS Title.

Unfortunately, Stat's time with AEW has not always been smooth sailing, and the powerhouse now finds herself out on the sidelines due to an ACL injury.

Upon formally signing with AEW in December 2019, Statlander made an immediate impression in the company's female ranks by picking up a win over Hikaru Shida - who at that point was only a matter of months away from becoming AEW Women's Champion - in Stat's first ever singles match in the promotion.

Another big win would soon follow as the Alien toppled Britt Baker, and that itself was followed by a shot at the AEW Women's Title at that point held by Riho. Statlander would come up short in her bid for the gold, and she's yet to find herself back in a position to challenge for that prize once again.

While she seemed on an inevitable collision course with Jade Cargill, as alluded to, Statlander recently suffered an ACL injury that's expected to keep her on the shelf for six months. Should That Bitch still hold the TBS Title when Stat returns, though, don't be surprised to see the Long Island native take the belt from Jade.
