5 Best And 5 Worst Reluctant WWE Tag Team Champions

4. Best 4. Kane And X-Pac

The only person in the WWE who has turned heel and babyface more than Big Show is Kane. 1999 was a big year for heel/face turns, as well as reluctant tag team partners. But while makeshift teams like Big Show and Undertaker didn’t work, the team of Kane and X-Pac worked very well for both men. Like Austin and Michaels, they came together over common enemies, as Chyna had turned on Kane and Triple H had turned on X-Pac. The two ended up forming a friendship along the route to winning the tag team championship, and X-Pac got Kane to say his first words without the aid of a voice modulator, which were, of course, “Suck it.”

After losing the tag straps to Show and Undertaker at Summerslam, X-Pac declared himself the weak link of the team (a theme that will pop up a few times on this list), and ended the partnership. He’d later turn on Kane as DX reformed later in the year as heels. Still though, this team humanized Kane and gave the once unstoppable monster some more interesting layers, and for that, this team belongs on the list.
