Older fans will be scratching their heads at this one and wondering why Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake are here when they were a tag in the 80s. They're a bit of a curious addition, granted, but they belong here for one reason and one reason only: a teased reunion to form a new and improved 'Dream Team' in 1991 was scrapped.

Before WrestleMania VII, a mysterious masked man continually helped babyface Valentine fend off Jimmy Hart's goons; just as it looked like Greg would be hammered (ahem) by his old manager's stable, which included Earthquake, the masked saviour would ride to his rescue. Then, come 'Mania, 'Quake squashed Valentine as though the build hadn't happened.

Years later, Beefcake would write in his book that he'd been slated to return from a nasty parasailing accident and re-form his team with Valentine. This time, they'd be babyfaces and go against Jimmy Hart's minions. Beefcake couldn't get medical clearance, so the idea was shelved and Greg never had another angle in the company again.
