5 Biggest Beneficiaries Of Roman Reigns' WWE Suspension

2. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens may not have been an immediate beneficiary of Roman Reigns's suspension earlier this summer, but things eventually worked out in his favor. Whether it was fate, destiny, or just flat-out luck, Owens has finally solidified his spot as Raw's lead heel following Monday's unforgettable show.

I suppose we'll never know whether Owens was originally scheduled to become Mr. Money in the Bank before plans changed, or if Dean Ambrose was the one to win it all along, but patience has been a virtue for the former Intercontinental champion. He resumed his fun feud with Sami Zayn and formed an alliance with Chris Jericho before re-entering the WWE Universal Championship picture just recently.

With Finn Bálor out injured, WWE very easily could have put the vacated title on Reigns, who has been without gold around his waist since his suspension. But it appeared they weren't quite ready for him to resume his main event push, and opted not to have him win the belt on Raw. It was far too early for Big Cass to become champion, and Seth Rollins was primed to begin his feud with Triple H, leaving Owens to score the strap instead.

Let's just hope Owens doesn't ultimately drop the title to Reigns down the line.
