In a contest that was very atypical of the WWE style -- a match that felt more like something out of Ring of Honor -- NXT Champion Adrian Neville went head-to-head with former Hart Dynasty member Tyson Kidd. The men traded kicks, holds, slams, dives, and every move imaginable. Both competitors even simultaneously attempted a high cross body -- crashing into each other, and slowing the pace of the match momentarily. As both men attempted to regain the advantage, they again continued to trade offensive maneuvers. After a pair of impressive reversals -- Neville backflipping out of a top-rope sunset flip attempt, and Tyson catching his opponent with a springboard russian legsweep -- both challengers appeared to be spent. Despite this the pace didnt seem to slow. A disastrous suplex over the ropes took the pair of athletes to the floor. Upon re-entering the ring, both men struggled to continue. Neville near gave in after being placed in the devastating Dungeon Lock. As he was laid up in the ropes, Adrian was hit with a destructive front flip leg drop delivered by Kidd from the top-rope. But even that wasnt enough to put the champ away. Adrian refused to lay down and give up as he countered Tysons high-risk attempt with a super hurricanrana, swiftly followed by his patented Red Arrow -- a corkscrew shooting star press -- for the win. In the end, both men proved their worth inside the squared circle. Ultimately, however, Adrian Neville retained his coveted championship and further cemented his reign atop the NXT world. The 27-year-old Briton further showcased his aerial ability and proved that he is the high-flying future of not only NXT but possibly of WWE.
