5 Biggest Winners & Losers From AEW In 2024
1. Losers: Ricky Starks and Honorable Mentions
Finishing out the biggest losers list could be any number of wrestlers who were let go from AEW or were missing in action for the bulk of the year.
In particular, Ricky Starks is one of the most annoying examples of this, as he started off 2024 holding the tag team titles alongside Big Bill, who went on to become the right-hand man of Chris Jericho in The Learning Tree, while Starks has sat at home doing absolutely nothing. By all context clues, it appears Starks wants to leave All Elite Wrestling, but Tony Khan is forcing him to sit out his contract purely out of spite.
That is something that Khan previously acted above, as if he wouldn't do what WWE has done in the past, but is also doing to The Lucha Bros, as Rey Fenix lashes out on social media about his "inhumane treatment" in AEW, watching the clock and waiting to join Penta El Zero Miedo under Paul Levesque's regime.
Out of sight, out of mind, and while some wrestlers may enjoy the time off being paid to do nothing, others are clearly itching to move on, but are stuck in limbo, achieving nothing this whole year but grief and aggravation.
