5 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE Clash Of Champions 2016

3. Loser: Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was successful in retaining his WWE Universal Championship. Shouldn't that be enough to prevent him from landing in the "Losers" column?

On most nights, absolutely, but Clash of Champions wasn't most nights. Instead of winning decisively for the first time since becoming champion, Owens needed a referee bump plus involvement from Chris Jericho and Stephanie McMahon to topple Seth Rollins. It protects Seth somewhat, but only further diminishes both The Prizefighter and his championship.

KO has been booked terribly since entering the main event scene proper. Triple H is the only reason he's carrying the title in the first place, and The Game's involvement all but ruined Owens' coronation, which should've been one of the year's highlight moments. Owens has since lost a throwaway cage match with Roman Reigns, and last night further cemented his status as a weak Universal Champion.

If WWE are trying to run Raw into the ground, this is the way to do it. The belt took a big enough hit when Finn Balor was forced onto the injury reserve, and they've only diminished its reputation since. At a time when Raw is desperately lacking in credible main event stars, the writers appear stuck in self-destruct mode.
