5. Losers: The Dudley Boyz

On Monday afternoon, D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley announced through social media and WWE.com that last night’s Raw would be their last. They’d elaborate on the situation during the show itself, but after a multi-decade career with WWE, ECW, TNA, and a host of others, The Dudleyz were calling time and moving one.

The Dudley Boyz hit the ring as promised, but things didn’t exactly go as planned. The Shining Stars came-out to interrupt their retirement speech and belittle them on the way-out, which, predictably, ended with a brawl breaking out. Though the Dudleyz got the upper-hand, they were soon flattened by Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, who left Bubba & D-Von lying with a set of Magic Killers outside the ring (Bubba) and through a table (D-Von).

Is this really the end for The Dudley Boyz? It’s hard to tell. It’s a long-held wrestling tradition that wrestlers will put someone over on their way out of a company, but this would be a flat, uninspiring way to end the Dudleyz’ storied WWE careers.

There was talk that both men had signed extensions to their initial one-year WWE contract a few weeks ago: if that’s true, then there’s every chance that this angle was put together to set-up one last big match for the team, before delivering on their long-hinted split angle. Either way, Bubba Ray & D-Von left Raw with egg on their faces.
