3. Loser: Titus O’Neil

Speaking of feuds that benefit precisely nobody, Titus O’Neil and Darren Young are picking-up where they left-off pre-SummerSlam, and oh boy, was this week a trainwreck.

Titus came-out to address the crowd and talk about his recent issues with Young, and while the promo didn’t quite match Kalisto’s epic Draft night meltdown, it wasn’t far off. The awkward, bumbling Titus fluffed his lines and stumbled over his words, and looked like he was experiencing genuine stage-fright before the audience. It was the most cumbersome in-ring promo since Flo Rida’s failed battle rap with Bo Dallas earlier in the year, and a stark reminder of Titus’ weaknesses as a performer.

Bob Backlund appeared and tried to lock Titus in the chickenwing, but it didn’t work out. Titus beat him down, and when Young tried to save his life coach, he took a Clash of the Titus for his troubles. It was a bland, heat-less segment that reeked of filler, and it’s clear that nobody’s interested in their rivalry at this point. Neither man has ever truly connected with the audience, and while The Prime Time Players were decent midcard fodder in the tag division, neither man has delivered throughout their respective singles runs.

Get ready for more weeks of this tedium, because Darren Young vs. Titus O’Neil doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon.
