An outstanding night of action, but who came out on top?

Last night’s Monday Night Raw was a resounding success. Fresh off one of their most exciting pay-per-views of the year (Battleground), WWE set the 2016 Brand Split off to the best possible start by producing the kind of show that fans have been craving since the New Era’s inception.
With a heavy focus on in-ring action and straightforward, logical storytelling, Raw was a night of resolutions and new beginnings. The question of a second world championship was answered, Sasha Banks finally got her hands on Charlotte, and Roman Reigns’ position on the WWE food chain hit an all-time low.
Some superstars debuted as others reintroduced themselves and, by the end of the evening, the WWE Universe went home happy.
There were a couple of missteps along the way, but this was the kind of Raw that illustrates just how good the 3-hour format can be when not crammed with endless filler and non-moving storylines. WWE were able to do this by giving fans a total of four 14+ minute matches throughout the show, and if they’ll go some way to rebuilding Raw’s reputation by sticking to this blueprint going forward.
Last night’s Raw brought a number of interesting developments for all involved. Some pushed forward, while others stepped backwards, and as entertaining as the show was, not everyone is going to proposer in the New Era.
