1. Winner: Seth Rollins

Back on the scene and finally ready to compete again, Seth Rollins has been a thorn in Stephanie McMahon’s side ever since Triple H first cost him the Universal Championship. The Game’s spectre still looms over The Architect, but last night saw his rematch with Kevin Owens officially made for Hell in a Cell. He’s earned another opportunity at taking KO’s ill-gotten gains, and in an enclosed structure, there should be limited scope for any Triple H involvement.

Seth’s contributions weren’t as chaotic as usual. He cut a brief promo to follow-up on the announcement that he’d have to face Chris Jericho later, then successfully fought off KO to defeat Y2J and keep the rematch one-on-one. WWE teased heavily that Jericho was going to pull it off, but no: Rollins stayed strong, and his shot at redemption will not be “turned into an episode of Table for 3”, as he put it.

The match’s aftermath saw Rollins deliver a Pedigree to Jericho while Owens scampered up the ramp. At this stage in the feud, Rollins unquestionably has KO’s number, and while there are still a couple of Raws to go, Seth looks strong ahead of HIAC.

His issues with Raw’s authority figures remain problematic, however. Who knows when Triple H is going to show up next, and while Stephanie remains coy on the subject, there’s no chance she hasn’t got something up her sleeve. The Architect left her reeling in an angry backstage exchange last week, and Steph isn’t the type to take that lying down. Rollins has every right to feel confident in his chances of defeating Owens, but the external factors are a cause for concern.
