2. Loser: James Ellsworth

Oh James, what have you done?

AJ Styles’ conqueror had a terrible night. The show opened with him thanking Dean Ambrose for all his recent help, but Ellsworth’s request to stand in his corner during his main event with Styles was laughed off. Disconsolate, Ellsworth moped around backstage for the rest of the show, and Ambrose finally caved-in. His pity took over, and he let Ellsworth accompany him to the ring.

This, predictably, ended in disaster. If Ambrose won, he’d get another shot at AJ’s WWE World Championship. Styles continually attacked Ellsworth throughout the match, and the Man With No Chin’s frustration eventually overcame him. He unleashed a superkick on AJ, and the referee had no choice but to ring the bell and write the match off with a disqualification.

Ambrose was shocked, and Ellsworth looked close to tears. Where once it seemed like he had a powerful ally in Ambrose, it’s entirely possible that he’s now made a very dangerous enemy. Ellsworth’s two victories over Styles came through Dean’s involvement, and after costing Ambrose his title shot, Ellsworth is all alone in SmackDown’s shark tank. Can he survive? Here’s hoping someone else takes pity on him, because the future looks rough.
