5 Biggest WWE Winners & Losers In 2021
4. Winner: Bianca Belair
It has been a ridiculously good year for Bianca Belair. The EST has been in the business for a scant half-decade, and yet her glittering CV and rocket-fueled ascent doesn’t feel the least bit inorganic - she’s just that good.
Belair’s first eight months on the main roster saw her working in a comedy angle with The Street Profits, but when she was allowed to go alone, things exploded. In January she won the Royal Rumble, going nigh on coast to coast and besting runner-up Rhea Ripley in a changing of the guard moment.
Next came a brilliant feud with Sasha Banks, culminating in a WrestleMania main event. The history making match saw two black women headline for the first time, and they did not disappoint, lacing their bout with pathos and memorable moments. A brief but quality run with Bayley followed, leading up to SummerSlam.
There, she lost her title in 26 seconds to Becky Lynch. But while this seemed idiotic at the time (and still does, really), it has only made Belair a better and more beloved babyface. Few have grabbed the proverbial brass ring like Bianca in recent memory, and there’s no way she’s letting go.
