5 Early Successes Of Triple H's Run As Head Of WWE Creative (And 5 Failures)

4. Failure - Decimation Of Tag Teams

This is a bit of a strange one, because Triple H knows the value of tag team wrestling.

One of NXT's greatest rivalries, DIY vs The Revival, brought tag team wrestling back to the company in a way it hadn't been seen in years. Some of their matches were absolutely spellbinding, and when a tag team runs it's course, it should create mega singles stars. Gargano and Ciampa's breakdown dominated the NXT discourse for years, and both of them are now primed to make big impacts on the main roster.

Surely, of all people, the Game knows that putting some stock in the tag division has its benefits.

Of all the current teams, you could pick out Montez Ford and Chad Gable as future main event players, but they won't build that credibility if the division is treated as an afterthought.

Despite the excitement of Braun Strowman's return, there has been absolutely no need for him to completely destroy the tag division. By positioning the eight men in that number one contenders tag match as nothing more than warm bodies for the 'Monster Among Men' to toss around, it undervalues the division entirely.

Why should we care who challenges for the belts next if WWE don't?

They could have had Braun wipe out the entire the 24/7 Division and then eat the belt. That would have solved two problems in one go.
