3. Charlotte vs. Bayley vs. Becky Lynch - NXT 4/22
While Lucha Underground is an exciting new product for pro wrestling fans, it's by no means the only must-see broadcast on a Wednesday evening. We're seeing the opening skirmishes of the Wednesday Night Wars, as Lucha Underground and NXT cement their positions as the most exciting hours of television in American pro wrestling. This week's edition of NXT saw a triple threat match to decide the new number one contender to Sasha Banks' NXT Women's Championship, and the match was as excellent as you might expect from the talent involved. WWE gets a lot of flak for the way it presents its Divas on the main roster, but the female competitors working their way through developmental are evidence that a change is on its way. Moreover, there are definite bright spots on Raw and Smackdown, such as Naomi's rise to the top of the division over the past several weeks. Despite her humble beginnings as one of the Funkadactyls, Naomi has put in the work and developed into a fine wrestler. Her athleticism was never in any doubt, but her ring instincts and war crate have come along in leaps and bounds since she began wrestling on a regular basis rather than being relegated to a valet role. Her match with Nikki Bella should exceed expectations come Sunday and Naomi as champion would provide some intriguing contests once the standouts of NXT begin migrating to the main roster.
