3. Seth Rollins: Face Of The Company

Seth Rollins, per recent rumours, is in line for the big push in 2019.

Potentially set to dethrone Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 to launch his claim as the face of the company, it isn't enough to simply be a great sports entertainer. It isn't enough to be over. The face of WWE must conduct themselves with a certain upstanding, sponsor-friendly disposition. John Cena did this by breaking Make A Wish records; Seth Rollins has so for attempted to do this by...

...defending a hack comedy routine performed in very poor taste by a man reentering the circuit in the wake of a sexual assault scandal which, given the demands of the role Rollins is set to occupy, is about as mindful as forgetting whether or not your knee actually hurts.

Louis CK caused waves of controversy recently by mocking school shooting survivors and diminishing the trans community in one of several poorly-received comeback sets.

"They're like royalty, they tell you what to call them. 'You should address me as they/them because I identify as gender neutral.' OK. You should address me as 'there' because I identify as a location, and the location is your mother's c*nt."

Maybe CK was trying to make a wider point about free speech, or something, and simply said the most offensive sh*t he could think of to invite hysteria in order to mock it further - but he wasn't speaking truth to power, which undermined the satire. That "location" is approximately five feet away from an unresponsive c*nt, because the guy we're all too full of soy to deal with literally does not f*ck. If he'd said that, we may have heard the old,. wonderful self-deprecating sad sack of old. But no: he is a monster now. He always was.

Beyond the morality of it all, because holding an opinion doesn't automatically qualify one as an prick, Rollins has dented his public image just weeks before the Royal Rumble. And you thought his rubbish V-Trigger was a dumb move.

Now we know Rollins has exquisite taste in pro wrestling - in Hiroshi Tanahashi, he has picked exactly the right performer to rip off - but comedy...not so much.
