Fusing technicality with physique, the Sharpe Brothers were architects of puroresu, in that they helped to establish it as a cultural cornerstone in Japan through moulding and introducing the godfather, Rikidozan, to the public that would eventually lionise and even deify him.

In their native United States, the Sharpes enjoyed a national following, inspiring the likes of Nick Bockwinkel, before Mike settled into the role of a WWF enhancement talent in the twilight years of his career.
