5 Other Power Moves WWE Could Make To Thwart AEW

2. Run Network Specials Simultaneous With AEW PPVs

AEW PPVs are in the $50 range, whereas WWE's monthly events can be viewed as part of their $9.99 Network subscription. In theory, WWE could offer up a bonus network special to run simultaneously with an AEW PPV, offering a cheaper alternative as part of a subscription you're already paying for, as opposed to coughing up the big bucks for an archaic form of viewing consumption.

This may well be an underhanded tactic, but definitely isn't beneath Vince and co. In fact, it's a ploy they've already undertaken, as WWE's NXT UK Takeover event aired the night of AEW's All Out PPV. Whether it's a main roster or NXT live event, or something else entirely, you can always expect WWE to conjure up something to draw in a portion of wrestling fans whilst AEW does their thing.

Having their own network is a huge advantage WWE currently maintains over the new wrestling no.2, and they'd be foolish not to make the most of it in fairness. Whether AEW ever follows suit and introduces an online platform of their own one day remains to be seen, but for now, whenever AEW puts out any content what so ever, they're at risk of WWE breathing down their necks in some fashion or another. Not in the Heidenreich sense though, thankfully.
