5 Positives & 5 Negatives From WWE Royal Rumble 2016

3. Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto

This match had potential, but due to some poor execution, failed to live up to it. Del Rio's never been in better shape in his entire career but his matches since returning to WWE have been hit-or-miss, with many being the latter. Kalisto was in his highest profile position since being called up to the main roster and, whether it was big-match jitters or just bad luck, the Lucha Dragon member seemed to have a couple of flubs in this match. To say nothing new, commentary didn't do this match any favors and the result saw Kalisto defeat Del Rio for the US Championship. This could mean that Alberto is set for bigger things heading into WrestleMania, which is probably the safe bet considering the lack of depth of the current roster, as well as the amount of money that WWE is likely paying Del Rio. Although the rumors of the $1.45 million dollars per year contract may have been just that, it is likely WWE is paying Del Rio a pretty penny for his services and would want to maximize their investment by booking him into bigger profile matches. He'll need to start delivering on a more consistent basis though to prove worthy of any contract he signed. In all fairness, it takes two to tango but their Royal Rumble dance just wasn't very good.
