5 Positives & 5 Negatives From WWE Royal Rumble 2016

1. No Flashback Rumble Participants

The lack of flashback talents entering the 2016 Royal Rumble may have left some fans that left the Amway Arena in Orlando disappointed. Over the past several years, the 30-man battle royal has set expectations for fans to see a couple of superstars from the past, but that didn't happen Sunday night. Some of these surprise returns have allowed talents, once thought to be done inside a WWE ring, brought back for another run, such as Mr. Perfect in 2002. Others were able to use their Rumble spot as a legit return to full-time, going as far back as 1992 when Rick "The Model" Martel returned to WWF television after having not been seen since WrestleMania VII. Finally, there are often just fun, little "remember me?" moments like when The Godfather, Diamond Dallas Page, or Kevin Nash entered the Royal Rumble to a standing ovation. The match doesn't need to have a bunch of these spots but the 2016 Royal Rumble didn't see any. With all due respect to these two, did this year's match need Jack Swagger or Mark Henry, for example? Could a couple of non-standard superstars from the past have made better use of those positions? Click "next" below to read the positives...
