5 Positives & 5 Negatives Ahead Of Brock Lesnar Vs. Goldberg

6. Negative - Overshadowing Hell In A Cell

Another slightly finicky point here, but if I’m scraping the barrel for negatives then I guess that can only be a good thing, right?

The final negative I’d like to reference is the fact that all this attention given to Lesnar vs. Goldberg kind of stole the thunder of last month’s Hell in a Cell show. In the end, that PPV felt like something of an afterthought, or a filler event that was just treading water before the real showcase arrived.

In fairness, this is more of an issue with the company’s jam-packed PPV schedule, which sees big events come around unnecessarily often.

Plus, this lengthy build that overshadowed certain elements of Hell in a Cell is a bit of a double-edged sword. While it may have detracted from the previous show somewhat, it's certainly benefited Survivor Series and helped to make the show feel like a much bigger deal.

I guess it’s something of a Catch-22. Do you only focus on one PPV at a time? Or do you give every event as lengthy a build as possible, even if it’s to the detriment of another show? It’s a bit of a quandary, and one that’s only been made more difficult by the Brand Split’s additional PPVs.
