5. Poistive - Goldberg’s Awesome Return
Onwards and upwards as we now move onto the positives, and where better to start than with the awesome return of Goldberg himself on the Oct. 17 instalment of Raw?
After a dozen years away from the company, the magic of the WWE 2K partnership once again worked its wonders. After featuring Goldberg on the cover of 2K17, that seemingly bridged the gap between the necessary parties, paving the way for his real-life return to an actual WWE ring.
Regarding the comeback itself, Goldberg was appearing in order to address Paul Heyman’s challenge of a rematch against Brock Lesnar—anyplace, anytime.
Unsurprisingly, he accepted, but he also ended up offering us so much more than a simple answer. We were treated to that trademark Goldberg entrance, complete with a guard of honour from the locker room, as well as a brilliant promo and a performance that made him pretty much the most over babyface on the entire roster in the space of a few short minutes.
Somehow Goldberg looked better than ever, and that 12-year hiatus from WWE was already looking well worth the wait.
