5 Possible "Plan Bs" WWE Should Consider For Roman Reigns

4. Randy Orton Turns

Randy Orton is getting desperately close to Kane territory in terms of being an ineffective nonfactor in WWE. Since losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, Orton is winless at PPVs (he wasn€™t pinned at Extreme Rules, Money in the Bank or Battleground, however). Most recently, he fell to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. But while Orton€™s stock seems to be at an all-time low, now might be the time to invest in him. Building Randy up for WrestleMania doesn€™t have to be overly complicated. As someone who has become less important to The Authority now that Lesnar has the title, Orton could be on the edge of a turn as autumn wears on. Orton could decide that to be the true €œface of the WWE,€ he needs to stand on his own and rebels against The Authority and challenges for the title at Mania. Orton has shown the ability to connect with fans as a good guy. While he has been on a downswing for a few months, there€™s a reason he€™s been at the top of the promotion for so many years.

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
