Set this woman free already, WWE. The tag team with Nia Jax just isn't working for Baszler; if anything it's devaluing someone who could be WWE's top antagonist for years. Look at her: her background and demeanour scream out for her to be sat on her perch, title in hand, waiting for somebody to come and knock her off.
The Royal Rumble gives The Queen Of Spades the opportunity to sever her ties with Jax - via a brutal beatdown and elimination - and set her on the course she seemed to be on a year ago. Baszler has to be the woman to see her arm raised at the end of this match. It promotes her back where she belongs, as well as giving Asuka a real challenge for the belt for the first time in forever.
Raw's women's division is in a similar state to SmackDown's right now, not enough talent close enough to Asuka to be credible challengers, but Baszler showed in last year's Elimination Chamber that she can be that badass wrecking ball. WWE, I see what you're doing with Asuka and Charlotte - we all do - but stop it. It's Shayna's time. Or it will be, once you've built her back up again.
