5 Reasons AEW Should Sign Cesaro AEW (& 5 Reasons They Shouldn’t)
5. Reason he should: Focus on in-ring
Even though the show opening promos have started to creep in, AEW is still just as likely to open Dynamite on a fast-paced TV banger to set the tone for the night. Tony Khan is a fan of in-ring expression and variety, all the better to serve up a pro-wrestling buffet. This would suit Cesaro down to the ground.
You can well imagine Cesaro being entrusted either to open Dynamite or get the tired crowd back up again for Rampage with a jaw-dropping display of physical prowess. Yes, AEW still has interview segments and promo battles but there are fewer silly skits and more emphasis on what guys can do in the ring.
When Bryan Danielson arrived in the promotion the start of his run wasn’t angle heavy. Instead, he put on incredible match after incredible match, essentially just showcasing what “The American Dragon” could do between the ropes. His performances were so electrifying they didn’t need a melodramatic storyline to get the crowd involved.
Similarly, Cesaro could thrive in an environment where his body can do the talking.
