5 Reasons Cody Rhodes Will Succeed In WWE (And 5 Reasons He Won't)
5. Won’t - The Money
…in the event Cody Rhodes doesn’t perform at the level the office expects, you can bet that the hefty contract will become a stick with which to beat him. We’ve seen some high profile cuts in the past few years, and a common denominator for many of the most prominent was that they were drawing serious bank.
The best example is Bray Wyatt, a merchandising machine and intelligent wrestler whose high fee made him a money saving firing. So too was Braun Strowman, whose guaranteed deal eventually made him expendable.
There’s no reason to suspect that a similar fate will befall Cody, but it’s fair to assume that WWE will want value for money out of their most recent acquisition, and it’s equally safe to imagine that they’ll make the difficult decision if needs must.
Of course anyone’s going to take a whopping fat contract over a less rewarding one. When the ink dries, though, you’ll need to prove your worth, and with a big paycheck, that’s no small undertaking.
