5 Reasons Dean Ambrose Is The Next Stone Cold Steve Austin

2. He's An Anti-Hero

There€™s nothing people love more than a hero with an edge. It€™s why people love Captain Jack Sparrow, it€™s why people can€™t get enough of Batman, it€™s why people idolized Han Solo, and it€™s definitely why people loved Stone Cold Steve Austin. Anti-Heroes are heroes that don€™t mind being a little bad. They can cheat, they can bend the rules, and they can be rough around the edges, while still doing the right thing at the end of the day. Stone Cold was the ultimate anti-hero during the attitude era, doing anything he needed to do to get one up on his enemies. If that meant hitting them with chairs, he€™d hit them with chairs, if it meant attacking his boss in the hospital, he€™d beat the piss out of his boss in the hospital, and if it meant spraying them with a beer hose, you best believe he€™d hose the bastards down. At a time where the edgiest babyface superstar is probably AJ Lee, the WWE Universe is begging for a bad ass to get behind. Somebody who doesn€™t care for rules and regulations, doesn€™t care about smiling for the camera and doesn€™t care about pleasing anybody but himself (or so it seems). Unlike every babyface on the roster, Dean Ambrose doesn€™t seem to care whether you think he€™s a good guy. He has a problem, a vendetta if you will, and he€™ll do whatever is required to settle it. If he weren€™t raging against The Authority, you€™d think Ambrose was a heel with all the sneak attacks and violent imagery in his promos. He€™s an outlaw; he€™s somebody that stands for something but doesn€™t act holier than thou about it. Dean Ambrose, like Stone Cold is a flawed individual. He€™s far from a saint, and because of that we feel like he€™s one of us. At the end of the day, that€™s why we love anti-heroes, because they feel more realistic and relatable.
