5 Reasons Dean Ambrose Is The Next Stone Cold Steve Austin
2. He's An Anti-Hero
Theres nothing people love more than a hero with an edge. Its why people love Captain Jack Sparrow, its why people cant get enough of Batman, its why people idolized Han Solo, and its definitely why people loved Stone Cold Steve Austin. Anti-Heroes are heroes that dont mind being a little bad. They can cheat, they can bend the rules, and they can be rough around the edges, while still doing the right thing at the end of the day. Stone Cold was the ultimate anti-hero during the attitude era, doing anything he needed to do to get one up on his enemies. If that meant hitting them with chairs, hed hit them with chairs, if it meant attacking his boss in the hospital, hed beat the piss out of his boss in the hospital, and if it meant spraying them with a beer hose, you best believe hed hose the bastards down. At a time where the edgiest babyface superstar is probably AJ Lee, the WWE Universe is begging for a bad ass to get behind. Somebody who doesnt care for rules and regulations, doesnt care about smiling for the camera and doesnt care about pleasing anybody but himself (or so it seems). Unlike every babyface on the roster, Dean Ambrose doesnt seem to care whether you think hes a good guy. He has a problem, a vendetta if you will, and hell do whatever is required to settle it. If he werent raging against The Authority, youd think Ambrose was a heel with all the sneak attacks and violent imagery in his promos. Hes an outlaw; hes somebody that stands for something but doesnt act holier than thou about it. Dean Ambrose, like Stone Cold is a flawed individual. Hes far from a saint, and because of that we feel like hes one of us. At the end of the day, thats why we love anti-heroes, because they feel more realistic and relatable.
