5 Reasons MJF Is Already Secretly A Babyface

4. Deep, Deep Down, He Is A Good Person

The modern wrestling fan understands that the men and women we watch fight for our entertainment are playing characters. Even if that character is a heightened, exaggerated version of themselves, they can command our sympathy or make us hate their guts but that is a performative muscle they are flexing while playing a role.

That said, MJF clings more closely to kayfabe than most, so it’s all the more interesting on the few occasions he lets his mask slip. He was quick, for example to tweet out, “Prayers For Hangman,” after Adam Page’s scary injury on Dynamite. Even then, he soon provided a caveat.

“Turns out he’s fine. Now I feel gross for tweeting this like a total poor.”

More revealing still was an exchange with a neurodivergent fan during a recent Twitter Q and A session. Twitter user @Lili_Edea told Max:

Not a Q but thanks for incorporating your ADHD in a way that it's a part of who you are, but not something you want sympathy for I'm an autistic wrestler who's been training 2 years, it's part of who I am, but I also don't want to be typecast for it either

...to which “The Salt Of The Earth” responded:

“Mental disabilities don't define us, Be who you want to be. Just know I'll always be better than you”

MJF would hate to admit it, but that response borders on heartwarming.
