5 Reasons MJF Is Already Secretly A Babyface
3. He’s Proved Himself Time After Time
As “The Salt Of The Earth” himself has repeatedly reminded us, for a long time wrestling fans underestimated him. Sure, the fandom collectively shrugged, he can talk alright but can he “go”?
If anything, MJF’s incredible character work detracted from his skills as an in-ring worker.
His abilities on the mic tended to overshadow his matches, which were few and far between by design. Nonetheless, when called upon to prove himself between the ropes he’s delivered again and again.
To give just a few examples: he’s matched Jungle Boy’s athleticism, was masterful on the sell against Darby Allin and his dog collar match against Punk was a worthy pay off to the build, which speaks volumes.
Road Dogg was dead wrong when he said wins and losses didn’t matter. When it comes to believing in a character of even a promotion it matters a great deal. That said, losing key matches against CM Punk, Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho hasn’t prevented MJF from convincing people of his genuine talent as a wrestler.
What is a bigger babyface trait than constantly being overlooked and underrated and proving your doubters wrong time after time?
