5 Reasons Nobody Wins With Brock Lesnar Vs. Jinder Mahal
4. Paul Heyman Has Already Belittled Mahal
Remember when Paul Heyman stood in the middle of the ring on Raw before Great Balls Of Fire and remarked that Brock Lesnar should take the threat of Samoa Joe seriously? The same thing happened with Braun Strowman before No Mercy too. It makes sense that a manager would want to talk up his client's opponents to fan the flames of interest in their matches.
Well, as Heyman would tell you himself, he's an advocate not a manager. Perhaps that's why he giggled like a schoolboy as he called Jinder a "pretender" to the throne and belittled him in a manner ill-fitting for a WWE Champion. Paul can't be blamed for that - how else was he supposed to play things? Mahal isn't a wrestling machine like Joe, and he isn't a monster like Strowman.
This does pose a problem before Survivor Series though. If Heyman and Lesnar lean too heavily on the idea that Mahal is beneath them, then they come across as heels when it's Jinder who is the clear villain of the piece. It's also a risky move from WWE to ridicule their own WWE Champion before a major pay-per-view match.
